Southern Africa: Millions of children face the threat of famine in nations already ravaged by AIDS
12 million people, many of whom are children, are at risk of disease, starvation and death in Southern Africa. Millions of people already weakened by HIV/AIDS are not getting enough to eat, making them vulnerable to life threatening infectious diseases. Food is needed urgently before the coming rainy season, or it will be even harder to reach the people. Save the Children are calling for an immediate large-scale humanitarian response to prevent further disaster.
